Texas Truth: Who Is Really Waging a War on Women?

On May 19, 2021, the Texas legislature passed Senate Bill 8, also known as the Texas Heartbeat Act. Abortion advocates sued, but without intervention from the Supreme Court, the law took effect at midnight on September 1.

With the enactment of this statute, abortion is almost entirely banned once the unborn child’s cardiac activity can be detected; the one exception allowed for is a medical emergency in which a physican deems the life of the mother is in danger. 

As one can imagine, proponents of baby murder, so long as the victims reside within the womb, became unhinged. They decried such a violation of “human rights,” all the while missing the irony, and popularized the hashtag #TexasTaliban

Those who support abortion obscure their agenda with masterful manipulation of language. Instead of boldly proclaiming they are for the wholesale slaughter of innocent children, they avow they are “pro-woman” and fighting for reproductive “justice” and “rights.” They have condemned the fight for life as a “war on women.”

But who is really waging a war on women? Is it anti-woman to desire to protect vulnerable mothers from making a choice to kill their own child? 

The pro-life movement is the one that supports mothers in unplanned pregnancies. It is the movement that tells a mother that her child is a gift, and she is strong enough to be a mother.


It is not the movement that exploits a mother in a temporary moment of uncertainty and anxiousness. The abortion movement lies to the mother, painting her child as a “problem” that can be solved by killing him or her. 

Abortion is a traumatic and damaging experience, and psychologists and physicians have identified and labeled the emotional fallout as Post Abortion Syndrome (PAS). Campaigns like “Silent No More” and “Rachel’s Vineyard” have cropped up to help and serve women suffering from PAS. 

“The act of abortion does not make you any less of a mother. Abortion makes you the mother of a dead baby, and that pain doesn’t go away.”

“Ending my first child’s life is the greatest mistake of my life, my only regret.”

“I am sharing my pain and a bit of my story in hopes that I can spare even one woman the pain of the loss of their child at the hands of an abortionist.” 

These are the words of a mother grieving the loss of a child she chose to kill. In a time when she needed support and encouragement, she was used and victimized by a movement intent on murder. 

Abortion mills exclusively prey upon women and their unborn babies. Abortionists are hired hitmen, contracted killers, murdering for cash. These are the real aggressors against women; and not only women, but their precious children as well.

The Texas Heartbeat Act seeks to protect defenseless children from being brutally killed. Government has a vested interest in protecting innocent life, and ought to do so in a society that claims to be civilized. The Fourteenth Amendment affirms no state shall “deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.” 

Abortion is not, and never has been a “right.” American lawmakers like the Texas legislators are morally and legally bound to prohibit abortion in its entirety. 

Life is winning.
