Can We Trust Arizona GOP Leadership?

The aftermath of November 3rd, 2020, for many Americans, called into question the legitimacy of our elections. The excitement and passion for President Donald Trump was undeniable, even by those on the Left.

Time and time again, we saw the overflowing crowds at the rallies, and over the course of his first term, hundreds of thousands (possibly millions) of Americans flocked to see our Commander in Chief. However, the same could not be said for Joe Biden and the Democrats. On top of his countless blunders and gaffes, Biden’s campaign stops were so lacking in enthusiasm, he almost went unnoticed.

Writing about an event in Pennsylvania in 2020, a political correspondent at the left-wing media outlet The New York Times stated, “He [Mr. Biden] arrived with such little fanfare that I didn’t even notice him enter the room” (Lerer, 2020). As we saw these events unfolding, those on the right believed the election was in the bag and President Trump would be in the White House for four more years.

Unfortunately, election night went awry; a Michigan tabulation center boarding up windows to conduct the count in secret, the statistical impossibility of the vote dumps for Biden, and the mainstream media calling Arizona without the data to do so. We felt cheated, and rightfully so.

The right to vote is sacred, and election integrity is of utmost importance. We couldn’t reconcile what we had seen leading up to election night with the results being reported, and we cried foul.

Now, here in Arizona, we are the first state to conduct an audit to determine whether the results of election night were accurate. I would love to believe this process is an honest one, but I am hesitant to trust it can be truly objective; the Republican Party of Arizona is the swamp, and the leadership are the swamp creatures.

One such player in the game is Dr. Kelli Ward. Dr. Ward is currently the Chairwoman of the Arizona GOP (AZGOP). Although Dr. Ward paints herself as a staunch advocate of President Trump and Americans, the reality is she is fighting election integrity on every level.

In November of 2020, Dr. Ward signed off on a Certificate of Accuracy for the Dominion voting machines used in Maricopa County (Laura Gómez, 2020). She is also coming under fire for refusing to allow for transparency in her own race, where she was narrowly “reelected” this past January.

Next, we have two “Republicans” highly involved in the audit process; Ken Bennett and Randy Pullen. Mr. Bennett is a former Secretary of State, while Mr. Pullen held many positions within AZGOP leadership. Tapped by Senate President Karen Fann, Bennett is a longtime Arizona name known for his rubbery spine.

Randy Pullen is of like ilk, and gained notoriety for supporting former Governor Jan Brewer’s plan to radically expand Medicaid and push the big government welfare state. Both men are well-known “RINOs” (Republican In Name Only).

This is a well-oiled machine, and the swamp is deep and dirty. Despite all that, Arizona is full of patriots who love the Lord, this country, and President Trump. Arizona is ground zero for a new grassroots movement; the Patriot Party. Constitutional conservatives have been leading the charge, most importantly with a recall initiative targeting the Republican Speaker of the House, Rusty Bowers.

Rusty singlehandedly had the ability to convene a special session of the legislature to investigate the alleged election theft, yet chose to ignore it, thereby subverting the will of the People. If we are to be principled, we must hold our officials accountable, no matter what side of the aisle they claim to be on.

Due to the tireless efforts of committed citizens, the campaign has collected tens of thousands of signatures, and is likely to be proven successful upon signature verification by the state. Arizona patriots aren’t going down without a fight, and Lord willing, the “best is yet to come.”
