How Dehumanizing the Unborn Has Led to the Death of 68 Million Babies in the US

According to American Life League (American Life League, 2020) a baby is aborted in the United States every 37 seconds. From the advent of the legalization of abortion up to 2018, 68 million babies have been aborted. Yes, you are reading those numbers correctly, 68 MILLION! Simple math will tell you that an average of 1.5 million babies lose their life every year to abortion. To put that number into a current perspective, according to the Centers for Disease Control, in 2020 abortion has taken 3 lives for every 1 life lost to Covid-19 (CDC, 2020).
Covid, the oh-so-deadly pandemic with a 99.97% survival rate (Coronavirus Recovery, n.d.), has conditioned us all to wear masks and socially distance, or else we are selfish killers. However, what about all the parents and doctors willingly killing innocent babies every year? We must ask ourselves; why is the killing of our precious babies so normalized and accepted in the United States? Especially when organizations and movements like PETA and Adopt Don’t Shop, alert us to the concerns of animal welfare. Well, the answers are simple: conditioning, financial profits, and destruction of the family unit. For sake of time, this article will address conditioning.
Ask any abortion advocate why abortion should be legal and viewed as healthcare, and what they spew out of their mouth is nothing short of pure demonic influence. In this video for Turning Point USA, Candace Owens and Charlie Kirk discuss the nefarious agenda behind abortion; showcasing WHY so many rally behind supporting abortion (Kirk & Owens, 2019). However, historically speaking, we must dig deeper and further to understand the real source of this indoctrination. A 2019 Gallup report (one must of course keep in mind their data pooling is likely reaching leftists) showed a vast majority of Americans stunningly support abortion (Saad, 2019).
My dear friend, Olivia Murray, foundress of Life For Unborn Children (LUC), and fellow Christian Conservative, gives a bone chilling breakdown of abortion in her book, Abortion v. Slavery: The Parallels Between Two National Sins. Her book explores and exposes, how the arguments in support of abortion are eerily similar to those of another historical pandemic, American slavery (Murray, 2021). So let’s begin down the rabbit hole of the national sin of abortion in the United States. Buckle up ladies and gentleman, it’s going to be a jaw-dropping and heartbreaking ride. In order to do so, we must first assess how the powers that be have convinced the masses to see the miracle of life as just a parasitic, clump of cells (Murray, 2021).
The abortion advocate’s first step to get everyone on board with abortion as a moral and taxpayer-backed “healthcare” practice, is to dehumanize the embryo/fetus as “not a person,” and even more disgustingingly and falsely, to call it a “parasite” (Murray, 2021). Yes, the leftist agenda has inaccurately termed a fetus a parasite. Why this is so far from the truth is that a parasite, by definition, is a different species than the host and feeds off the host without offering any benefit to the host (Definition of PARASITE, n.d.).
Pretty heinous label considering a 2015 study published in Circulation Research, concluded: “fetal maternal stem cell transfer appears to be a critical mechanic in the maternal response to cardiac injury” (Kara et al, 2012; Murray, 2021). Translated eloquently into layman’s terms by Murray (2021), “if a mother is experiencing heart injury or failure, stem cells from the unborn child will be sent to repair the damaged tissue.” The truth is a fetus and its mother form a symbiotic relationship; a fetus is not a parasite.
Another method for dehumanizing an unborn life, is to coin it as a clump of cells and property of a mother’s body (Murray, 2021). Science, the ruler for the left, clearly shows us that life begins at conception, as proven in the wonderful book of Dr. Marjorie England, Life Before Birth 2nd Edition (England, 1996). Along with England’s work is that beautiful book of Truth called the Bible, “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb” (Psalm 139:13, ESV). However, leftists still try to push the anti-science narrative that a baby in the womb is the property of the mother and not a separate human being with a unique set of DNA that will never be replicated again.
Pastor Matt Chandler of The Village Church in Flower Mound, Texas discusses the sin of abortion in his recent sermon “A Community of Life” (Chandler, 2021). He describes abortion as “chronological snobbery” as many abortion activists want to base life on an arbitrary time frame within the womb. Wherein reality, “unique life combusts upon conception.” At 8 weeks of age, a baby has a unique blood type, usually different from its mother, and unique DNA. The baby is a unique creation of God.
Pastor Matt speaks to the hypocrisy and insanity between unborn manslaughter laws and abortion laws. If a person commits a crime against a pregnant woman and the unborn child dies, they may be charged with fetal homicide in many states. However, a woman can walk into any abortion mill in the United States and legally kill that same child the law protects in other instances (State Laws on Fetal Homicide and Penalty-enhancement for Crimes Against Pregnant Women, 2018). The harsh truth is that abortion and fetal homicide are both murder.
By denying the unique “personhood” at each stage of an unborn’s life – zygote, embryo, and fetus, the Constitutional rights of the unborn become murky (Murray, 2021). The irresponsible judicial decision handed down in the landmark case Roe v. Wade legalized abortion in the United States. Since the Constitution does not clearly define “person,” Roe (real name Norma McCorvey) v. Wade, was able to say that women had the right to abort a baby before viability, which at the time was before 24 weeks gestation (Murray, 2021). From this corrupt court case unto to the present day, abortion in the United States has become egregious. We have gone from pre-viability to now enabling medical practitioners and parents the right to kill full-term babies in many states (Higgins, 2019).
According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, 7 states allow for full-term abortions for any or no reason, 2 states allow for full-term abortion if rape or incest is involved (which is statistically less than 1% of all abortion reasons (Dastagir, 2019), and 20 states allow for full-term abortions if the mother’s health is at risk (States with Gestational Limits for Abortion, 2020). Among the many problems with permitting abortion if maternal health is “at risk” is that there’s a major loophole allowing for explotiation – the health of the mother is not just limited to the physical risk of death, but rather emotional, psychological, and familial factors are included. So pretty much any woman can get a late-term abortion approved, if she so chooses (Higgins, 2019).
In this past 2020 election cycle, pro-life Coloradoans tried to overturn full-term abortions with Colorado Proposition 115, the 22-Week Abortion Ban Initiative (Colorado Proposition 115, 22-Week Abortion Ban Initiative (2020), 2020). Proposition 115 aimed to prohibit abortions after a fetus reaches 22 weeks gestational age. Devastatingly, 58.99% of voters opposed the bill, and the status quo remained.
Here is a complete list of states that allow late/full-term abortion provided by the Kaiser Family Foundation (States with Gestational Limits for Abortion, 2020). There are 7 states, plus the District of Columbia, that legally give women the right to late-term abortion or abortion in the 2nd and 3rd trimester up to the date of birth, without any government interference (Pietrangelo, 2018).
7 states plus D.C. that allow for late-term abortion with no reason are:
- Alaska
- Colorado
- District of Columbia
- New Hampshire
- New Jersey
- New Mexico
- Oregon
- Vermont
14 states that allow late-term abortion under the “health-risk” loop-hole:
- Arizona
- California
- Connecticut
- Delaware
- Hawaii
- Illinois
- Maine
- Maryland
- Massachusetts
- Minnesota
- Nevada
- New York
- Virginia
- Washington
2 states allow for late-term abortion in the case of incest/rape:
- Arkansas
- Utah
Based on these alarming facts, it is clear that the practice of dehumanizing unborn life has had dire consequences in America. In the words of Matt Chandler, we need to start “caring for people from the tomb to the womb” (Chandler, 2021). To truly call ourselves Christians, we must denounce the practice of abortion completely.
